Minnesota
State Shoot
June 22-24, 1928
Breezy Point |
Reader Jerry Thomas of
Greenwood, IN passed along several historical photographs concerning
historical Minnesota trapshooting. The first photo is of Capt. Billy
Fawcett, president of the Breezy Point Gun Club, presenting the junior
state singles championship trophy to young Richard Bailey Jr. of Virginia,
MN. The second photograph is the actual trophy that Mr. Thomas acquired
recently. |

| Jim Walkowiak,
former MTA official, sent along the following photographs of two
trophies he has in his personal collection. By coincidence, the two
trophies are also from that 1928 state shoot at Breezy Point. The
silver bowl, awarded to the handicap champion George Schaust
of Minneapolis. Schaust broke 89x100. The wooden plaque was the
singles trophy won by F. Theirault of Pennington with a score
of 193x200. That would be the only singles title he ever won. The
trophy is huge, measuring 27 inches high and 17 inches wide. And
very heavy and solid. |
